Privacy Policy

GPX Life is designed around a simple principle: your route data is yours, and we don't want a copy of it.

Data we collect

None. GPX Life has no backend server, no user accounts, and no analytics. We do not collect, store, transmit, or sell any personal information, route data, location history, or device identifiers. There is nothing for us to leak because there is nothing for us to keep.

Where your data lives

• On your device. Imported GPX files, derived versions, and app preferences are stored in the app's local sandbox. Your library is per-device and does not sync across devices.
• In iCloud Drive (your choice). You can import GPX files from, and export a full JSON backup of your library to, iCloud Drive. Those files stay in your personal iCloud Drive where you put them — we never see or touch them.

Third-party services

• Apple Maps & MapKit. Used for map rendering. Subject to Apple's privacy policy.
• OpenStreetMap. Used as a fallback tile source. Map tile requests include only the tile coordinates and a generic user agent — never your route or identity.
• Open-Meteo. Used for weather forecasts. When you view weather for a route, the start coordinates are sent to Open-Meteo's public forecast API. Open-Meteo states that no personal data is logged. See open-meteo.com/en/terms.
• Apple StoreKit. In-app purchases are processed entirely by Apple. We receive a yes/no entitlement; we never see your payment details.

Children's privacy

GPX Life is rated 4+ and contains no targeted advertising, no third-party tracking, and no user-generated social features. It is safe for users of all ages.

Changes to this policy

If this policy ever changes, the new version will be posted here with an updated "last updated" date. Material changes will also be surfaced in-app.

Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

By downloading or using GPX Life ("the app"), you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

2. License

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use GPX Life on Apple devices you own or control, subject to the Apple App Store Terms of Service.

3. Subscriptions and purchases

Subscriptions (monthly, yearly) auto-renew through your Apple ID until cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel any time at Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions on iOS. The lifetime purchase is a one-time, non-refundable transaction that grants Pro features for the lifetime of the app on Apple platforms.

Refunds are handled by Apple under their standard refund policy. We can advocate for you but cannot issue refunds directly.

4. Acceptable use

Don't use the app to do anything illegal, to redistribute the app, or to attempt to reverse-engineer it beyond what's permitted by Apple's developer program agreements.

5. Disclaimer

GPX Life is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. Routes, weather forecasts, and map data are informational and should not be relied on for safety-critical navigation. Always carry independent navigation tools when you're in the backcountry.

6. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any damages arising from use of the app, including but not limited to navigation errors, weather inaccuracies, or device data loss.

7. Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the app after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

8. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law provisions.
